Project: September 11th Memorial at New York State Fairgrounds, Syracuse, NY
Architect: Bell & Spina Architects
Year: 2002
Product: Stackable cubes to form memorial monument. Large precast concrete blocks were stacked at varying heights surrounding a piece of wreckage from one of the twin towers. The blocks had plaques attached to them with information about the September 11th tragedy. While not an exceptionally intricate or difficult project as far as precast concrete manufacturing is concerned, the emotional impact one gets when standing in the midst of the memorial makes this a very noteworthy project.
